Practice Makes Progress
One thing I've learned throughout this cake journey is that every cake is an opportunity to learn something new.
This week, I decided to make a cake solely for content, a vintage-inspired buttercream cake featuring layers of ruffles, shells, and a rope border. While it may look effortless in photos, or at least I hope it does, each border and piped detail takes patience, practice, and a steady hand. There were definitely moments where I wanted to scrape it all off and start over, and I did, but that's exactly how growth happens.
Practice cakes are some of the most valuable cakes I'll ever make. They allow me to experiment with techniques, improve my piping skills, and build the confidence needed to create beautiful cakes for future celebrations.
I'm really proud of how this one turned out, and even more excited because I can already see where I've improved and where I want to keep growing.
Thank you for following along on this sweet adventure. Every practice cake brings me one step closer to creating something truly special for you
There's so much more buttercream to come!
